Mikrotik Hotspot Bypass - To begin browsing, a client must go through a registration process with the provider and then enter a username and password in a browser Login window that appears on the attempt to open a webpage.

Mikrotik Hotspot technology proposes providers to establish and administer a user database, which can be useful for such enterprises as airports, hotels or universities that offer wireless or Ethernet Internet connectivity to employees, students, guests or other groups of users as in.

By default mikrotik hotspot will proxy all traffic, even that of authenticated users. This will slow authenticated user traffic as well as make the CPU work harder on your router. To bypass this behavior you can use the following NAT rule:

/ip nat firewall
add chain=pre-hotspot dst-address=!local hotspot=auth action=accept

“local” should be set to your local subnet. Be sure to drag this rule to the top.
